Kennel Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our furry guests. You will be responsible for providing exceptional care and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals under our care. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily care such as feeding, watering and potty breaks for all animals in the kennel facility.
Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
Monitor and observe animals for any signs of distress, illness, or unusual behavior and report to the appropriate personnel.
Administer medications, following prescribed instructions and guidelines, under the supervision of authorized personnel.
Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding schedules, medications, and any relevant observations.
Assist in the intake and release of animals, ensuring proper identification, documentation, and compliance with applicable protocols.
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the animals.
Collaborate with trainer to ensure seamless communication and coordinated care.
Stay up-to-date with best practices in animal care, welfare, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with animals preferred.
Passion for and knowledge of various animal breeds, behaviors, and basic health care needs.
Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Excellent observation skills to identify signs of distress, illness, or behavioral changes in animals.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, pet owners, and the public effectively.
Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
